Ruth and Mama: Opposing feelings on abortion

Most of the time, Ruth and Mama manage fairly well for being in such a closed enviornment all the time.

The family doesn't have much money, and feeding and caring for another occupant would be a great burden on the family as a whole. Considering such, when Ruth becomes pregnant with her second child, she aptly decides to abort it.
However, Mama strongly disagrees with Ruth's position, demonstrating that her Husband dearly loved children, and would roll over in his grave if he knew that she even pondered such an act to an unborn child.
