Release Date: April 8, 2003 Tracks: 13
The "Electric" album, which draws its calling from the title track of the same name, is the Brian's first foray into the Techno/Dance/Trance genre of music. Larsen spent the bulk of an otherwise unproductive 2002 demoing and recording tracks for the album, and by late summer, he had put together a rough running order of the tracks. When he held a listening party in August, a stunned crowed insisted that Larsen mix the album and release it at once. He took much of the winter of 2002 to re-record some tracks, and the album was finally released on April 8, 2003, nearly one year to the day after the "Close to Me" EP, to acclaim from critics and fans alike. Larsen immediately released the title track as a single, and it quickly broke the Dance Top 20. Shortly thereafter, Larsen released a second single, "Casino," which broke the Top 40. By July, Larsen had been awarded a 7" gold record for the "Electric" single. A key demonstration of Larsen's unfaltering versatility as a musician of all genres, "Electric" is not to be missed.
